Managing Editor:
Mark Laliberte is a project-based hybrid media artist working in collage, sculpture, language, and computer-based sound composition. He has won several awards for his work including grants from the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council, and an Ontario Graduate Scholarship. His latest “page works” have appeared in 3rd Bed, Broken Pencil, Dandelion, Descant, Prefix, QSQ, subTerrain, Vallum, and West Coast Line.

Recent exhibits include: Boring. People. Love. Drills. group show, Sequential Desire group show, The Lab Sessions 4.0: Deconstructing Hip (2008/ Labspace, Toronto); logo|schema|entric (2008/ INDEXg, Toronto)

 
 

Assistant Managing Editor:
Terra Borody studies philosophy at the University of Guelph with a focus on metaphysics and aesthetics. She has been involved in a number of grassroots activist campaigns for human and environmental rights. Terra has been writing poetry for ten years, and journalistic pieces for the last two. She is currently working on an interactive film installation project, as well as an independent clothing line made of reused materials.

 
  Special Project Development:
Jennifer de Visser studies English Literature at the University of Guelph with a focus on late 19th and 20th century American literature. She has written poetry for over a decade and been involved in a number of poetry workshops, readings, and performances over the years. She is currently indulging her loves of both poetry and painting by experimenting with mixed media pieces.
 
  Fiction Editor:
Elizabeth Shearly's home is in Ottawa, but she lives in Guelph and is in her second year in the Physics program. She loves sailing, musicals and casseroles.
 
  Fiction Editor:
Rebecca Hicks is in her third year at the University of Guelph, where she studies biomedical science. Along with her studies, she is involved with many volunteer and travel opportunities, which have transported her to Kenya and Guyana and back again. In her journey through the world of molecules, health and disease, Rebecca uses reading and writing as her escape, and enjoys every minute she spends in the realm of literature.

...should you have interest in participating on either of these selection committees, just show up at the office at the appropriate time! These meetings are organized and facilitated by appointed Editors; they work efficiently with our volunteers to choose what poems or stories will be published. Carousel receives a large number of submissions from a national / international cross-section of writers, so there is quite a bit to look through, and we can always use new people to voice their opinions. Due to the time committment of our weekly (sometimes reduced to bi-weekly) meetings, it's suggested that you join either one committee or the other, not both.
